Vinicius Jr Offers Regret to Real Madrid Fans

Vinicius Jr has registered 5 strikes in 10 Spanish league appearances during the current campaign.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to the fanbase for his response when taken off in Sunday's heated Clasico clash victory.

Vinicius was substituted in the second half and displayed his frustration by heading directly to the dressing room.

He later returned to the bench and, following his team's narrow triumph, tried to confront Barça's Lamine Yamal during unpleasant post-match exchanges.

"This day I want to apologise to all the Real Madrid fans for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clasico," the player wrote on X.

"In the same way as I have said in person during today's session, I wish to say sorry once more to my colleagues, the team, and the club president.

"Sometimes fervor takes over me because I continuously aim to win and assist my team. My winning mentality stems from the affection I hold for this institution and all it symbolizes."

He moved to the Spanish capital from Brazil in 2018 for millions and has scored over a century of strikes in numerous matches.

But his career in the La Liga is far from certain with speculation in the past few months indicating that the club would think about allowing the player move on if they obtained a good proposal.

When Vinicius was taken off on Sunday, cameras from network Dazn captured him stating: "It's always me! I'm leaving the team! It's wiser if I leave, I'm moving on."

In his latest message on X, he commented: "I promise to keep striving constantly for the benefit of Real Madrid, as I have done since the very beginning."
